Ground transportation — buses and streetcars — in Seville is operated by Tussam.
The bus network is the best developed: there are more than 400 buses running around the city — that’s 44 daytime and 10 night routes. Night routes are marked with an «A» in front of the number, e.g. A1. A separate EA route runs between Seville Airport and the city center.
Entrance to Seville buses is through the front door, and you have to press the green button in the cabin in advance before getting off.
- Day routes operate weekdays from 5:30 to 00:30, Sunday and holidays from 7:00 to 00:00; night routes from 00:00 to 03:00.

There is only one streetcar route in Seville, the T1. The streetcar line is only 2 km long, with 5 stops and 4 trains. The whole journey takes 10 minutes. The last two stops along the historic center, the streetcar passes through the pedestrianized Constitution Avenue, so its speed is no more than 20 km/h.
The streetcar connects the San Bernardo train station with the historic center, where the Cathedral is located (stop Plaza Nueva).

Bus and streetcar tickets
Buses and streetcars are owned by the same company, so they have the same fares.
- A ticket for one trip — Billete Univiaje. It is sold from the bus driver or at terminals at bus stops. You cannot buy such a ticket from the streetcar driver, so buy it in advance at terminals. The price is the same and does not depend on the length of the trip — 1.4 €.
- Tarjeta multiviaje is a refillable multi-trip card. The card costs 0.69 € for an hour without a transfer and 0.76 € with a transfer. The card is sold at Tussam service points, tobacco kiosks and newsstands. It can be topped up from €7 to €50 at terminals at main stops, at kiosks or on the carrier’s website. The card has a deposit of €1.5. The deposit can be refunded by returning the card to a Tussam service point.
- Tourist cards — Tarjeta turística, for one or three days. During the validity period, the number of trips is unlimited. These cards can be purchased at Tussam service offices. The deposit is 1.5 € and will be refunded when you return the card. The card costs 5 € for one day and 10 € for three days.
- Airport bus ticket. The bus ride to the airport (EA route) is subject to a separate fare: 4 € one way or 6 € round trip for one day. Tickets are sold from the driver and from vendors at the airport, but you can also pay with a rechargeable card.
Metro in Seville
The Seville Metro is a single line 18 kilometers long with 22 stations. It was built in 2009 and streetcars similar to those operating on the above-ground T1 line were run underground. They promise to build three more metro lines in the future.
The existing line is divided into three zones: 0, 1 and 2. Within one zone, the price is fixed. When traveling between zones, the price increases. For example, you travel inside zone 0 at the minimum price, if you move to the neighboring zone, the price increases.
- Mode of operation: Monday — Thursday from 6:30 to 23:00, Friday from 6:30 to 02:00, Saturday from 7:30 to 02:00, Sunday and holidays from 7:30 to 23:00.

Subway tickets
The Seville Metro offers several types of transportation cards. You can buy tickets at terminals at Seville Metro stations.
There are individual tickets, which can be used by only one person, and there are tickets that can be used by a group, charging a trip for each passenger. It is important to be able to debit the fare for all passengers in the group within four minutes, after which the card will be temporarily blocked.
- Refillable card — Bonometro. The transportation card can be topped up on the website or at terminals for amounts from 10 € to 50 €. The card can be used by several passengers (up to 30 people), provided they travel together. Each passenger will be charged according to the number of zones: within one zone — 0.82 €, two zones — 1.17 €, three zones — 1.37 €.
- Single ticket — Billete sencillo. It can be topped up to the required amount (up to 9 trips) and can be used by several passengers at the same time. The cost of travel within one zone is 1.35 €, two — 1.6 €, three — 1.8 €.

Bicycles in Seville
The capital of Andalusia is one of the most bike-friendly cities in Spain. There are more than 160 km of bicycle paths, the municipal bicycle service SEVici and many private rental offices.
Private companies offer various models of bicycles for rent and organize bicycle tours around the city.
- Rental price: from 15 € per day.
- Where to rent: Centerbici, Rent a bike Sevilla.
Municipal bicycle rental SEVici
SEVici is responsible for Seville’s municipal bicycles.
Renting a bike is very easy. There are 250 parking lots in the city, with 2,500 bicycles with magnetic locks, which can be rented at any time of day or night.
You need a credit card to rent a bike. With it, you must buy a card for an annual subscription (El Abono de Larga Duración) or a short 7-day subscription (El Abono de Corta Duración) at the terminal at any bike parking lot. If you buy on a credit card, a deposit of 150 € will be frozen, in case of breakage or loss of the bike.
You must have your subscription card with you when you want to rent a bicycle: put it to the terminal and enter your PIN code. The machine unlocks the lock on the bicycle and you must pick it up within one minute.
SEVici bicycles are free for the first half hour, after that there is a fee.
- Subscription for 7 days — 13,33 €. The first hour (after the free 30 minutes) costs 1.03 €, the second and more — 2.04 €/hour.
- Subscription for a year — 33,33 €. The first hour (after free 30 minutes) costs 0.51 €, the second and more — 1.03 €/hour.
Electric scooters in Seville
Electric scooters can get around Seville faster than bicycles. These vehicles can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h and can be charged for 70 kilometers.
You can rent electric scooters from Muving or Acciona.
The principle of renting from companies is the same, I’ll tell you about Muving by example. First, you need to download an app on your smartphone, register and specify your credit card. Using the app, find the nearest available electric scooter on the city map, book it and pick it up within 10 minutes.
To start the electric scooter, press the corresponding button in the app and don’t forget to take the helmet from the trunk before the trip. Return the vehicle to one of Muving’s parking lots (the list is available in the app) and close the rental through the app. The cost of the rental will be charged to the credit card.
- The rental fee is per minute: from 0.27 €/min while driving, from 0.12 €/min while stopping.
- You can buy a subscription that is valid for one year. Depending on the price of the subscription, a minute will cost from 0.19 €.
The most convenient public transportation in Seville is buses. I recommend buying an inexpensive tourist card for 5 € for the first day to see how much you need public transportation. If you decide that you can’t do without it for a few days, buy a refillable card for all types of transportation with a reduced fare. If you use it in a group, don’t forget that you’ll need to get on and off together to avoid a fine.
