Barn City (Speicherstadt)

Hamburg’s second most important attraction is the Barn City. In fact, it is the largest complex of industrial warehouses in the world. The buildings are made of red brick and the foundations are made of deep oak logs, i.e. they stand directly on the water. It is hard to imagine that such tall, large-scale buildings even today store goods unloaded from ships. The atmosphere is complemented by canals and metal arch bridges. Authentic industrial photos are taken here.
