Heydar Aliyev International Airport is a landmark in itself. The largest of six in Azerbaijan, it was recognized as the bestin the former Soviet Union in 2007 and 2008, and awarded the maximum five-star status by the most prestigious auditing organization, Skytrax World Airport Awards.
By 2014, a complete reconstruction was carried out and a new international terminal was opened, which immediately won several awards in its field. The halls are luxurious: expensive materials have been used, trees have been planted, there are carpets on the floor, modern sculptures and paintings all around. Duty-free stores are available not only in the departure zone, but also in the arrival zone (you can pay with rubles).

The local currency is the Azerbaijani manat ₼ (AZN). It costs approximately 40 rubles, 0.53 € or 0.6 $.
By Aero-Express bus
The stop is located opposite the central exit, across the street. The bus goes to the metro station 28 May (central railway station).
- Cost: 1.3 AZN for reusable smart card «BakıKart», 1.5 AZN for single-use ticket. Cards are sold in special terminals on the left and right of the airport exit. Only cash manats are accepted, no change is given. Tickets are not sold from the driver.

By cab
- At the exit, near the «Official Taxi» counter, you can order a car, including «London Cab». Yes, in Baku there is such a thing — real English cabs, can accommodate 5 passengers. Price ~ 25 AZN
- You can negotiate with a private person for ~ 20 AZN. Get ready to bargain hard, this is Azerbaijan.
- Through Uber app it will be ~15 AZN.
